This component covers all the Specific Objectives of the KULIMA Programme.
The Programme Estimate is implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development (MoAIWD).
It's aim is 'to coordinate and provide complementary support to improve the delivery and performance of public sector research and extension services, and to attract investment into irrigation so as to achieve increased agricultural productivity and diversification of crop production in a changing climate.'
The expected results from PE activities are the following:
Overall program coordinated and supported
Quality research extension and good agronomic practices provided
Extension infrastructures (residential training centres and housing for extension workers, research institutes) rehabilitated
Supplies provided to improve innovative capacity of the public sector research system
Agriculture communication in electronic form, in print form and through mass media improved
Sustainable national system for soil analysis developed and implemented in areas of intervention
Funding leveraged for large scale irrigation schemes in priority sites of the National irrigation Master Plan and strategies developed for mobilizing investment
